Wash your hands often to protect yourself from germs. Wash with soap and water. If that is not available, you can use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer. Make certain you use one that contains at least 60% alcohol.
When your body is run down, you are at greater risk for illness, so take care of yourself. You
are less likely to get sick if you are in general good health. Get
your sleep, stay healthy, drink fluids, eat nutritious foods.
Germs are spread when an infected person touches their eyes, nose or mouth and touches something else. Germs can be spread from someone sneezing or coughing.
Try to stay away from people who are sick. If you are in contact with someone who has the swine flu, or any illness, do not touch your mouth, eyes or hands until you have washed your hands.
People who have the swine flu should cover their mouth with a tissue or napkin when they sneeze or cough. They should throw that tissue away after they use it. Household surfaces should be disinfected.
Make a habit of washing your hands often. Also get in the habit of not touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Children especially need to be taught to keep their hands out of their mouths.
